We have Warning Times!!!Strike-Slip earthquakes are dependant upon 2 types of precursor actions before every quake (mins to hours).All Normal fault earthquakes come with a Warning Shot or strong precursor activity giving everyone Warning Time (mins).
Strike-Slip faulting only occurs with 4 precurors in comparison to the 12 precursors generated by normal faulting.
Fault Zones (FZ) that have been studied are the following: San Andreas FZ, New Madrid FZ, Eastern Tennessee FZ, South Carolina FZ, and the Rio Grande Rift Zone.
Strike-Slip earthquakes do not have P-waves or S-waves! They have the Gemini Signal. Only normal fault earthquakes hit with a minimum of 4 (Marker) P-waves and no S-waves. All normal faulting is "controlled."
